Dear NWEA members and water professionals,
I hope you are doing well in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. As much as we are challenged now, it is important for all of us in the water profession to keep focus and be effective in the best possible way under the circumstances. Water is critical for all of us and every day. Without clean water, we cannot even begin to deal with this pandemic. Our job to provide clean water and to keep our water clean is very important and critical. We protect public health, ecological health, and economic health our state and country by taking care of our water resources. I commend you all for keeping this mission going strong.
Your association, NWEA, is doing the same and the leadership team is working hard to bring you important knowledge and training to be effective in what you do. Due to continuing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions of large meetings, we have made the decision to cancel the live version of 2020 annual conference that was to be co-hosted with California Water Environment Association in October. In lieu of that program, we have decided to provide a virtual conference experience for the 2020 annual conference to be held on the Zoom platform on October 27th, 29th and November 3rd and 5th. The speakers are currently being selected for the program and a draft program and registration details will be available to you soon both by e-mail and on NWEA website, nvwea.org.
We encourage all registered attendees and speakers to contact Ashley Jacobson (email@example.com) with a refund request for payment reimbursement associated with dues previously paid toward in-person conference attendance. For speakers who are still interested in presenting on the virtual platform, you will be contacted by Sabrina Rivera for your availability for the virtual conference.
I want to reiterate again that NWEA Executive Board and Committee Leaders are working hard to continue to bring useful educational and training programs in the near future. I want to thank all of you for your continued support of NWEA and for your participation in the programs.
NWEA President, 2020-21
