Anticipating Odor Releases Based on Air Flow

06/21/2017
Anticipating Odor Releases Based on Air Flow in Collection Systems and Selecting Appropriate Treatment to Control Odors
  • June 21, 2017
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Eastern Standard Time

This webcast will focus on the dynamics of air flow through collection systems and how it relates to the release of odors. The presentations will focus on understanding the relative movement of air and wastewater through sewers and how the movement of wastewater impacts the release of odors. Specific areas of discussion will include hydraulic jumps, siphons, drop manholes, slope changes, and other hydraulic changes in the sewers. Options for controlling the flow of air through the system will be presented. One of the topics will include a comparison of capturing and treating foul air from the collection system and the addition of chemicals into the wastewater.
