Innovative Energy Management Workshop

EPA Region 9 and Local Sponsors will be hosting Innovative Energy Management Workshop in Las Vegas, Nevada Oct. 5, 2010

This workshop takes a new approach in guiding drinking water and wastewater utilities through an energy assessment. An expert in water energy auditing has been hired to provide several sessions with attendees to assess their facility's real-time energy use against the quantity of water treated. The workshop also includes:

  • An introduction to EPA’s Energy Management guidebook, a Plan, Do, Check and Act approach
  • A pre-workshop opportunity for wastewater treatment facilities 1 mgd or greater to receive an ENERGYSTAR’s Portfolio Manager Benchmark.
  • Nevada case studies and energy audit results that have saved energy, water, and money.
  • Funding options and technology updates.

Over the last two years, EPA Region 9 and local sponsors have delivered these workshops throughout Region 9. This workshop will be the eighth and final one held in US EPA Region 9. Based on the interest from workshop participants tailored follow-up with interested facilities is being designed. Previous workshops have provided 6 hours of continuing education credits.
